Optometrist
Dr. Rachel McKuras was born in Anderson, Indiana, grew up in Indiana and Illinois, and graduated from Mahomet-Seymour High School in Mahomet, Illinois. She attended Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, graduating magna cum laude with a B.S. in biology pre-medicine.
She graduated with highest distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, where she was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor society. She completed a one-year residency in neuro-ocular rehabilitation and ocular disease at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Dr. McKuras is grateful to have taken part in missions bringing eye care to areas with poor access, including Ukraine (2021), Guyana (2022), and Dominica (2024).
She and her husband, Camden, have been married since 2019. Camden is also a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, with a bachelor’s in Christian ministry and a master’s in practical theology. They enjoy being actively involved in their local church community.
