Pediatric Exams

Children’s eyes are still developing, and early care can shape a lifetime of healthy vision. We provide gentle, patient exams for kids of all ages.

Good vision is central to how children learn, play, and grow — yet young children often can’t tell you when something is wrong, because they assume everyone sees the way they do. That’s why regular eye care matters from an early age.

Our doctors care for children with patience and warmth, checking not just eyesight but eye development. When we find a concern, treating it early — while the visual system is still forming — gives your child the best possible outcome.

What We Care For

Supporting healthy vision as children grow

Blocked Tear Ducts

Evaluation and treatment of nasolacrimal duct obstruction and other tear drainage problems that cause watery eyes or discharge in infants and children.

Crossed or Wandering Eyes (Strabismus)

Evaluation and treatment when the eyes don’t line up properly, to help them work together.

Lazy Eye (Amblyopia)

Early treatment when one eye is weaker, taking advantage of the years when vision is still developing.

Common Questions

Questions patients ask

When should my child have their first eye exam?

If you ever notice crossing, squinting, head-tilting, or trouble seeing, bring your child in — at any age. Otherwise, we can advise on the right schedule based on your child’s needs and any family history.

My child passed a school screening. Is that enough?

School screenings are helpful but limited. A comprehensive exam checks eye health and development far more thoroughly, catching things a quick screening can miss.
